What is the Orton-Gillingham Approach?
What is Multisensory Orton-Gillingham Language?
Bridges Multisensory Learning Centre provides explicit and direct Orton-Gillingham based Multisensory Language instruction to students with dyslexia or other gaps in language learning in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne to bridge learning needs.
Our programs are based on an Orton Gillingham methodology which has proven to be effective with students with learning differences. Instruction engages kinesthetic (movement), auditory (hearing), and visual (sight), so the information presented reaches the brain by multiple modes simultaneously. Instruction is typically one on one and highly interactive. Learning is at the student’s own pace.
Assessment happens continuously. The student’s individual learning needs guide instruction. Because all readers need strong phonemic awareness to be the best reader they can be, this type of instruction can help all students. It works well for any English language learners.
